تجمع الأطباء الديمقراطيين: بيان حول انتشار وباء الكوليرا في السودان

▪️مناشدة لكافة المؤسسات الصحية الدولية والإقليمية للتدخل سريعًا لإنقاذ الوضع

▪️إيقاف الحرب هو المدخل الأساسي لإيقاف هذا التدهور. في الصحة وكافة المجالات.

في ظل تمدد هذه الحرب وتدمير معظم البنى التحتية وتشريد المواطنين من منازلهم ونزوحهم لولايات أخرى طلبًا للأمان، ومع إقامة معظم النازحين في أماكن لا تتوفر فيها أبسط مقومات الحياة والبيئة الصحية المناسبة، صاحب كل ذلك تدمير معظم المرافق الصحية بالقصف العشوائي من طرفي الحرب، الذين لا يهمهم أمر المواطن، إضافة لما قامت به قوات الدعم السريع من قصف ممنهج لمحطات المياه والكهرباء، كل ذلك خلق بيئة مناسبة تمامًا لانتشار معظم الأوبئة، التي تعتمد في انتشارها على تلوث المياه والأكل وعدم توفر مياه صالحة للشرب، وفي ظل بيئة لا تتوفر فيها أبسط مقومات السلامة لمنع انتشار العدوى، أو حتى علاج الحالات، التي يشتبه فيها، وذلك لعدم توفر المرافق الصحية وعدم توفر الكادر، وعدم توفر العلاج أو معينات العمل الأخرى، انتشرت وبشكل خطير جدًا حالات الإصابة بالكوليرا في العاصمة وولايات أخرى، مثل النيل الأبيض وسنار والجزيرة وبعض مناطق نهر النيل والشمالية ليصل ل 6 ولايات، ومتوقع انتشاره في كل السودان، وهذا الانتشار الكبير والأرقام الصادمة لعدد المصابين حسب البيانات المبذولة في الإعلام، التي أكدها التواصل المباشر مع عاملين في الحقل الصحي، هذا الانتشار يشكل خطر كبير جدًا على من تبقى من المواطنين، ويتطلب إعلان حالة الطوارئ من كل المنظمات والتنظيمات الوطنية ومن كل السودانيين في الخارج، في كل دول العالم، للتوحد والتكاتف وعمل غرف طوارئ لمحاصرة هذا الوضع بالدعم المتاح وبالتوعية الصحية وتنظيم الجهود، كما يتطلب من كل المنظمات الإنسانية العاملة في مجال الصحة التحرك العاجل لمخاطبة السلطات لوقف إطلاق النار العاجل والسماح للمنظمات الإنسانية للدخول للمساعدة في الوقاية والعلاج حيث أن الكارثة أكبر من إمكانيات البلد الحالية في ظل ظروف الحرب .
▪️إننا في تجمع الأطباء الديمقراطيين نناشد كل الزملاء في القطاع الصحي ومنظماتهم وتنظيماتهم المهنية من لجان تسيير ونقابات وغيرها للتوحد جميعًا وعمل جهد مشترك يقلل من مخاطر هذا المرض، كما نناشد كل القوى النقابية والاجتماعية والسياسية من التوحد والتحرك فورًا لإيقاف هذه الحرب عبر جبهة شعبية واحدة.

Official Statement on the Escalation of the Cholera Epidemic in Sudan

The Democratic Doctors Association expresses its profound concern regarding the recent escalation of cholera cases across multiple regions of Sudan. The current outbreak has reached a critical stage and must now be classified as a full-scale epidemic, with the potential to evolve into a national health catastrophe.

We urgently appeal to all international and regional public health institutions to intervene without delay in order to mitigate the unfolding crisis and provide essential support to the Sudanese population.

The cessation of hostilities represents the most fundamental and indispensable prerequisite for arresting the ongoing deterioration in public health and other vital sectors.

The protracted conflict has led to the systematic destruction of critical infrastructure, the displacement of vast segments of the population, and the collapse of essential public services. Internally displaced persons (IDPs) are currently residing in environments that lack the minimum requirements for human dignity, public health, and environmental safety.

The indiscriminate bombardment by all parties to the conflict has destroyed much of the healthcare system, while the deliberate targeting of water and power stations by the Rapid Support Forces has further exacerbated the humanitarian crisis.

These conditions have created an ideal environment for the proliferation of waterborne diseases, particularly cholera, which thrives in settings characterized by water contamination, poor sanitation, and the absence of potable water.

The current epidemiological landscape is further aggravated by the near-total collapse of healthcare services, including the unavailability of medical personnel, pharmaceuticals, and basic medical supplies.
Alarmingly, confirmed reports both from media outlets and direct communication with frontline healthcare workers indicate the widespread transmission of cholera in the capital, as well as in the states of White Nile, Sennar, Al Jazirah, Northern State, and River Nile State, amounting to at least six affected States. This trajectory suggests a high probability of nationwide spread, posing an existential threat to public health and requiring immediate, coordinated action.

We hereby call for the declaration of a public health emergency and appeal to all humanitarian organizations, national and international stakeholders, and members of the Sudanese diaspora to mobilize resources, raise awareness, and establish coordinated emergency response mechanisms. A comprehensive awareness strategy involving education, prevention, and logistical support is urgently required.

We, at the Democratic Doctors Association, earnestly call upon all colleagues in the healthcare sector as well as their professional bodies, steering committees, unions, and related organizations to unite and engage in a concerted, collaborative effort aimed at mitigating the risks posed by this disease.
Furthermore, we urge all unions, social, and political forces to come together in solidarity and take immediate action to bring an end to the ongoing conflict through the formation of a unified popular front
